Bonnie Bartman RN, MN/E, LCCE, IBCLC

Bonnie Bartman

Bonnie Bartman has been a registered nurse since 1971 and a Lamaze-certified childbirth educator and breastfeeding educator for 32 years. She became a certified lactation consultant in 1997. For 23 years, she developed and implemented a program of nine classes for new parents in Hilo, Hawaii. In the Bright Start program, she worked with families from the third month of pregnancy to the third year of life. Currently, she is an education and development specialist at Texas Children's Hospital and is creating programs for families at the Texas Children's Pavilion for Women in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

Niki Cobb, RN, BSN, LCCE

Niki Cobb

Niki Cobb has worked in the parent education field since 1994. As a nurse and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, she has taught prenatal and parenting classes, managed hospital-based parent education programs, coordinated continuing education offerings for breastfeeding professionals, and most recently, opened Nourish Family Center, a community-based parenting center for new and growing families. Her passion is connecting families with trusted, evidence-based resources, and supporting parents through one of the most challenging and most joyful times of their lives.

Keith Eddleman, MD

Keith Eddleman

Dr. Eddleman is the Director of Obstetrics at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he specializes in high risk obstetrics, ultrasound, and prenatal genetics. He is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He teaches medical students, residents, and physicians, lectures throughout the world, and appears often on television to discuss issues concerning the healthcare of women. He is the co-author of Pregnancy for Dummies, The Pregnancy Bible, and co-starred on the Discovery Health Channel's Pregnancy for Dummies series.

Cathy Emeis, PhD, CNM, LCCE, FACCE

Cathy Emeis

Cathy Emeis has been a registered nurse for 38 years, a certified nurse-midwife for 10 years, and a Lamaze childbirth educator for 23 years. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives and a Fellow of Lamaze International. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor and practicing midwife in the Nurse-Midwifery department at Oregon Health & Sciences University, Portland, OR.

Kristin Glenn, CBE, LC, MBA

Kristin Glenn

Kristin Glenn received her degree in Human Development and Families Studies and Master's in Business from the Colorado State University. Kristin is honored to have provided education to thousands of parents and professionals over the past 15 years through her work with Poudre Valley Health Systems and the Women's Clinic of Northern Colorado. Kristin has been a high school teacher, non-profit director, seminar presenter, grief consultant, and hospital marketing coordinator. Throughout her varied professional and personal experiences, her first priority is to contribute to the safety and happiness of families. Kristin and her husband of more than 22 years have five children.

Joanna Hatfield, MD

Joanna Hatfield

Dr. Joanna Hatfield grew up in California and attended U.C. Berkeley for college, followed by a few years teaching environmental education and doing research. She went to Stanford University for medical school, and then University of Vermont for her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She currently works as an assistant professor at Oregon Health & Science University. Her clinical practice includes the whole spectrum of OB/GYN care, minimally invasive surgery, and post-partum care. She has always found medicine interesting and her specialty choice was influenced by her own experience with a life-saving gynecologic surgery. She enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and son.

Cathy Heise RN, BSN, IBCLC, LCCE, FACCE

Cathy Heise

Cathy Heise has been educating and supporting expectant families in childbirth, parenting, and breastfeeding since 1980. She currently practices as an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant at University of Colorado Health Hospital. Cathy is also a Lamaze certified childbirth educator and was the Co-Director of the Lamaze International Denver Chapter, CPAC Childbirth Educator Program for many years. Cathy has presented at numerous conferences and local childbirth seminars on promoting normal birth and teaching strategies, and breastfeeding. In her spare time, Cathy also loves to run, backpack, and ski with her husband and she has two grown children.

Judi Lauwers, BA, IBCLC

Judi Lauwers

Judi Lauwers is the author of Quick Reference for the Lactation Professional and coauthor of Counseling the Nursing Mother: A Lactation Consultant's Guide and Breastfeeding Today: A Mother's Companion. She is the Education Coordinator and past board member of the International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA) and a practicing lactation consultant at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Judi and her husband, Dave, live in Chalfont Pennsylvania where they raised two sons.

Marianne Neifert, MD, MTS

Marianne Neifert

Marianne Neifert, MD, is a pediatrician, author, and nationally recognized expert in breastfeeding management. Dr. Neifert is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at University of Colorado Denver, and a member of both the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Breastfeeding and the Health Advisory Council of La Leche League, International. She has authored five books and hundreds of magazine articles on children's health and parenting. Dr. Neifert has been a guest on national television programs including the Today Show, Good Morning America, 20/20, and CNN. She has also published numerous articles in the medical literature on the topic of breastfeeding and has lectured to health professionals around the world.

Jennifer Shu, MD, FAAP

Jennifer Shu

Jennifer Shu, MD, is a pediatrician, author, and mother. She is editor-in-chief of the American Academy of Pediatrics' Baby & Child Health and co-author of the award-winning book Heading Home with Your Newborn and Food Fights, both published by the AAP. An enthusiastic and experienced writer and public speaker based in Atlanta, Dr. Shu is an editorial advisor for parenting magazines, consultant for health-related web sites, and a frequent guest expert on CNN, Headline News, MSNBC and Discovery Health, as well as in US News & World Report, USA Today, and numerous magazines, newspapers and medical publications.
